I like to describe a ripple effect as a disturbance in the status quo. As we challenge our own thoughts, feelings and belief system we start to challenge those around us. The work of inclusive leaders like yourselves is the reason we have made so many great changes in our society. It’s how the feminist movement began and spread, how the gay rights movement became mainstream, and how the civil rights movement changed the world. But there is always more work to be done. In this talk, Collin will discuss a few important topics surrounding what it means to be an inclusive leader through the lens of queerness. We will discuss queer history in Toronto, creating a safer space, activism and why your allyship can be that ripple effect.
