An Indigenous-themed movie will be screened to help us understand and appreciate Indigenous Peoples, their history and culture. This workshop was designed with the intention to share knowledge about Indigenous communities, and build awareness about Indigenous peoples, cultures and communities. Please join us to de-stress from your regular challenging/daily activities to learn about and appreciate diverse cultures.
The film contains sensitive references such as child abuse behaviours, sexual abuse references, drug addiction issues, and suicidal references. We will take pauses at specific parts of the film to address them, perform small debriefing reflections and check on participants reactions. We invite attendees to reach the facilitator, Calumet & Stong Colleges resources, or any of York University resources to receive additional support if needed.
