Volunteer Opportunities

Indigenous Health and Wellness Workshop:

October 22, 2018, 9:00am – 3:00pm

The York community is invited to learn about Indigenous ways of well-being, experience Indigenous history through an interactive blanket exercise, eat lunch provided by Nish Dish, visit an art exhibit featuring Indigenous heritage and contribute to an art piece.

Volunteers will be helping with registration, room set-up, reflection activity and take down of the event.  Timeslots are:

  • 8:30am – 11:00am: registration and event set-up, JCR set up for blanket exercise
  • 2:00pm – 4:00pm: reflection exercise and room take-down


Careers Matter Alumni-Student Connection:

October 24, 2018, 6:30pm – 9:00pm

Students are invited to connect with alumni, fellows, professors and graduate students over dinner to discuss pathways to success, personal challenges, careers, job shadowing and volunteering, mentoring, apprenticeships & internship opportunities and more.

Volunteers are more than welcome to join the event after registration and set up but must RSVP at  Timeslots are:

  • 4:30pm – 7:00pm: registration and event set-up
  • 7:00pm - 9:30pm: event take down
