June - Master's Update

Welcome to our new students! Calumet provides services, facilities and opportunities for students in all aspects of university life: academic, social, cultural and recreational. All members of the Calumet community are encouraged to participate. The name Calumet is an aboriginal word meaning “peace pipe.” The name was chosen to recognize and respect Canada’s aboriginal heritage and culture. This connection with the aboriginal community will be celebrated during the Pan Am games. Come and visit us for our Indigenous Health Display in Calumet’s Junior Common Room in July!

In the meantime, Convocation is just around the corner. This is the pinnacle of success for students who are graduating. It is the formal occasion where your tremendous efforts and talent can be acknowledged. It calls for the greatest celebration and will be one of the most memorable moments of your life!

As my term as Interim-Master ends, I want to express my gratitude towards the Calumet College community. The students are stellar and it was a pleasure working with them. The staff is dedicated and the entire team is truly outstanding.

In leaving, I have these three wishes for you: May you flourish, may you be happy and well.

Sincerely,

Myriam Mongrain
Master of Calumet College
